Crypto Ledger DeFi and Staking Privacy Policy describes how personal data is collected, processed, stored, and protected when users interact with Crypto Ledger DeFi features, staking services, applications, websites, and related documentation. This policy applies to all platforms where DeFi and staking functionality operates, including desktop applications, mobile applications, browser extensions, and web properties providing yield-related resources.

This Privacy Policy was last updated in January 2026. Periodic review is recommended as updates may occur reflecting changes in data handling practices, regulatory requirements, or service capabilities. Continued use of Crypto Ledger services after policy updates constitutes acceptance of revised terms.

Data Collection

Crypto Ledger DeFi and Staking services collect limited categories of personal data necessary for providing yield-generating functionality and related features.

DeFi interaction data includes anonymized information about connection methods, protocol usage patterns, and network preferences. This data supports application improvement and DeFi feature development without identifying individual users or their specific transactions.

Staking configuration data includes validator selections, delegation amounts, and reward tracking preferences stored locally on user devices. This data enables staking position management and reward monitoring without server-side storage of user holdings.

Protocol integration data includes anonymized patterns of which DeFi protocols and staking providers users access through Ledger interfaces. This data helps prioritize partnership development and feature improvements.

Support interaction data includes information provided when submitting DeFi or staking inquiries. This data is necessary to provide accurate guidance for yield-related questions.

Website visitor data comprises standard server logs including IP addresses, browser types, pages visited, and timestamps. This data supports security monitoring and content improvement.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Crypto Ledger websites use cookies and similar technologies for functionality and analysis.

Essential cookies enable core website functions including navigation, session management, and security features. These cookies are necessary for proper website operation and cannot be disabled without affecting functionality.

Analytics cookies collect anonymized website usage data including DeFi documentation pages visited, staking guide engagement, and navigation patterns. These cookies support content improvement and can be disabled through the consent interface.

Preference cookies remember DeFi display settings, selected networks, and interface preferences. These cookies improve the user experience and can be managed through browser settings.

Cookie preferences can be managed through settings links in website footers. Browser configuration can also control cookie acceptance, though this may affect functionality.

Analytics and Performance Monitoring

Crypto Ledger DeFi and Staking uses analytics to understand how users interact with yield-generating features. Analytics data undergoes aggregated processing and specifically excludes private keys, recovery phrases, wallet addresses, transaction details, specific holdings, and personally identifying information.

DeFi feature analytics track anonymous patterns of protocol connections, network usage, and feature adoption. This data helps prioritize DeFi integrations and improvements without identifying individual users.

Staking analytics measure anonymous participation rates, validator preferences, and reward claiming patterns to improve staking interfaces.

Application analytics operate through opt-in telemetry collecting anonymized events such as feature interactions, error conditions, and performance metrics. Users declining analytics transmit no telemetry data.

Analytics data retention follows a 26-month rolling period. After this window, aggregated trend data is archived while raw event data is permanently deleted.

Third-Party Tools and Services

Crypto Ledger DeFi and Staking integrates with third-party services for specific functions. Data shared with these services is governed by their respective privacy policies.

DeFi protocol connections transmit transaction data to decentralized applications when users interact through Ledger Connect or Wallet Connect. These connections are user-initiated and data handling depends on specific protocol policies.

Staking providers process delegation transactions when users participate in staking through Ledger Live. Provider selection and participation is user-initiated with provider-specific terms.

Blockchain network nodes receive transaction data for all DeFi and staking operations. This data is inherently public on blockchain networks.

Price data providers supply cryptocurrency valuations for yield calculations and portfolio display without transmitting user-identifying information.

Cloud infrastructure providers host backend services under data processing agreements requiring compliance with applicable data protection regulations.

Data Security

Crypto Ledger DeFi and Staking implements comprehensive technical and organizational security measures including TLS 1.3 encryption for all data transmitted between clients and servers, encryption of stored data at rest using industry-standard algorithms, access controls restricting employee data access to authorized personnel, regular security audits conducted by independent third-party firms, incident response procedures for identifying and addressing potential breaches, secure development practices with code review and vulnerability testing, and DeFi-specific security considerations for protocol integrations.

We never ask for your recovery phrase or private keys. The Crypto Ledger architecture ensures recovery phrases and private keys exist only inside hardware wallet secure elements. These cryptographic secrets are never transmitted to Ledger servers, companion applications, DeFi protocols, or third parties. All DeFi and staking transactions require hardware wallet signing without exposing private keys. Any request for recovery phrases or private keys should be immediately recognized as a phishing attempt and reported.

Data Retention

Crypto Ledger DeFi and Staking retains personal data only for durations necessary to fulfill stated purposes. Website server logs are retained for 90 days, then permanently deleted. Analytics data follows 26-month rolling retention with subsequent archival. DeFi and staking configuration remains in local device storage only, not server-retained. Support tickets are retained for 3 years after last interaction. Cookie consent records follow 13-month retention per regulatory guidelines.

DeFi interaction history and staking positions are stored locally on user devices and derived from public blockchain data. Ledger servers do not store user-specific DeFi or staking information.

Users can request data deletion subject to legal retention requirements. Deletion requests can be submitted through the support portal with identity verification as required.

User Rights

Depending on jurisdiction, users may exercise rights regarding personal data including access to personal data held about them, correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, deletion of personal data subject to legal requirements, restriction of data processing, data portability in structured machine-readable formats, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of consent for consent-based processing.

Rights requests can be submitted through the support portal at support.ledger.com. Identity verification may be required before processing to prevent unauthorized access. Responses are provided within 30 days or within timeframes required by applicable law.

International Transfers

Data may be transferred internationally for processing by service providers and infrastructure partners located outside the user jurisdiction. Such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by relevant regulatory authorities, adequacy decisions recognizing equivalent data protection standards, and binding corporate rules where applicable.

Children Privacy

Crypto Ledger services are not directed at individuals under 18 years of age. Personal data from minors is not knowingly collected during DeFi or staking activities. If such collection is discovered, the data will be deleted promptly upon notification.

Policy Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in data handling practices, regulatory requirements, or service capabilities. Material changes will be communicated through application interfaces, website notices, or direct communication where appropriate.
